MHRA Pharmacovigilance Symposium 2018

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Compliance matters, Events and symposia, Good pharmacovigilance practice

Do you want to hear about the latest MHRA pharmacovigilance inspection findings and trends, have an opportunity to put your questions directly to the inspectors and understand which topics the inspectors see as important in the upcoming year?

If the answer is yes, then register today for the MHRA pharmacovigilance symposium to be held on 3rd May 2018 and repeated on 4th May 2018.

Pharmacovigilance symposium

The MHRA pharmacovigilance symposium is held every 18 months - 2 years. The last symposium was held in November 2016. The inspectors design the programme agenda themselves, taking into consideration feedback from delegates, identifying areas deemed as ‘hot topics’, where regular non-compliance is reported or where inspectors are focusing more inspection time.

What will we talk about?

In addition to our regular update on inspection findings and trends identified over the past 12 months we shall also be exploring how pharmacovigilance inspections are changing, both from a systematic view point and operationally. Our head of inspectorate will also deliver a short update on Brexit interactions.

We shall be considering some interesting inspection topics, including some areas where we see many companies encountering difficulties, including a talk on service providers and outsourcing and areas of change such as signal detection in Eudravigilance. Topics also include areas where significant findings are being identified and increased focus is being put on inspection including, post authorisation safety studies and additional risk minimisation measures.

The audience will also have the opportunity to hear from MHRA pharmacovigilance assessors and members of the MHRA’s Vigilance and Risk Management of Medicines department.

The symposium will also include 2 panel sessions in which inspectors will answer questions posed to them by the audience via the symposium app and you will also be able to speak directly to individual inspectors during breaks at a dedicated inspector’s surgery.

Who should attend the 2018 symposium?

The event is relevant to personnel working within pharmacovigilance across all types of organisations, from small to large marketing authorisation holders, to contract service providers who supply pharmacovigilance related services.

The symposium provides a great chance to share experience, network and meet inspectors directly. We hope you can attend and look forward to seeing you in May. For more information and to register visit https://mhragpvp.co.uk/home
